Digital Literacy
In 2019, the Awareness Foundation launched a Digital Literacy Programme to impart basic computer skills to children from economically weaker sections of society. This initiative helps students not only learn essential computer skills but also equips them to participate in the digital transformation of education and knowledge. The program aims to enhance their future employability as they transition into the workforce.
Rotary-Bosch BRIDGE Programme for Digital Literacy & Employability
To expand digital literacy and career readiness, the Awareness Foundation has set up a Rotary-Bosch BRIDGE Skilling Centre at Urvashi, Mallickpur. This initiative is a tripartite partnership between:
- Awareness Foundation
- Rotary Club, Calcutta Presidency
- Bosch Company
The BRIDGE programme is a comprehensive skilling initiative that combines digital literacy and soft skills training to improve employability.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
On January 11, 2025, the Awareness Foundation signed an MoU with the Rotary Club, Calcutta Presidency to formalize the training initiative. The programme has a three-month duration consisting of:
- Two months of theoretical learning covering fundamental computer skills and job-specific knowledge.
- One-month internship and on-the-job training for students in grades 10-12 and college dropouts, enhancing their employability.
Course Highlights
- Proficiency in basic and specialized computer skills aligned with job market needs.
- Training in essential life skills, spoken English, and industry-specific expertise.
- Guidance on effective interview skills and professional development.
The first batch of trainees have commenced training on February 17, 2025, marking the beginning of a new pathway to digital empowerment and career success.
